S&OP Coordinator

For our Data and Analytics department in Venlo we are currently looking for a:

S&OP Coordinator (1 FTE)

 

The change of a season, a new product, a promotion, a quick shift in our customers' needs or even a local hype can all have a deep impact on our manufacturing demands. It is your goal to bring this complex supply and demand in perfect balance.

 

Your role:
Coordinate the balance between sales (demand) and operations (supply).

 

On one side you will work closely together with our Lines of Business (LOB) leaders, International Product and Marketing to inventory future sales and make an accurate data-driven sales forecast and calculate this to needed material, finance and production capacity. 

 

On the other side you translate this and work closely with our Venlo Operations (labour, equipment, capacity, and material planning) to synchronize and meet this demand.

 

Your role will also involve the following:

 

  • Perform deep dives to understand discrepancies between actual and forecasted demand, providing recommendations for actions to mitigate against over- and under-forecasted products / product groups.
  • Ask a lot of “why?”. Be skeptical and constantly challenge the data for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Understand and leverage the KPIs we use to monitor the performance of our business (revenue, costs, gross profit, and Manufacturing KPIs)
  • Report and present the current status, goals to the executive and give data-driven recommendations for further improvement(s).
  • Partner with the global S&OP data product team as a “voice of the customer” by articulating the use-cases and data requirements to execute a world-class and data driven S&OP process
     

Challenges:


It is of the utmost importance to present accurate forecasts created from a very complex puzzle which is also constantly evolving and reacting to demands.

The first challenge you will face is the upcoming peak demands in November and December 2021.

Mid-term challenge is to co-create and develop automations and tools to optimize accuracy and the consistency of the forecasts.

Long-term challenge and goal will be to standardize the processes.

Your average day:
This will evolve a lot during the seasons, promotion but also with the challenges you’ll face. At start we expect it will be 70% data and systems and 30% communications. Once you get the hang of the system it will change to 70% communications and 30% systems and eventually balancing out. 

 

Whom are we looking for?

 

  • It is vital you’re accurate and precise. 10001 is 10001 and not 10002.
  • Having a critical working attitude. Why is it 10001 and not 10002?
  • Be curious and analytic. Are there more 10001’s that should be a 10002?
  • Be able to set and to act to priorities (depending on lead time or impact)
  • Be able to earn and adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt messaging appropriately for a broad range of audiences.

 

What do you need to have? 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or a technical field.
  • Highly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent skills and experience in business and manufacturing processes.

 

What would be nice to have? 

 

  • Experience working in a highly autonomous and fast paced environment.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in production systems, theory of constraints, and navigating complex environments.
  • Experience in a project management role, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment.
