Reporting to the Creative Director of Global Design Services, this leadership role helps to drive world-class identity and marketing design for customers of Vistaprint’s Design Service. You should have experience art directing junior designers in the creation of small business collateral and identity products. The position will include the creation of innovative designs that exceed the expectations of Vistaprint’s customers in the small business and consumer markets. You should possess keen conceptual and design skills, a strong corporate identity focused portfolio, with an ability to communicate concise and effective feedback to multiple designers, artists/illustrators simultaneously. 


The ideal candidate is a senior level designer or art director who is growing into leading small design teams. You’ll have worked in a variety of environments such as agency and in-house creative and have experience with corporate brand identity. You are comfortable with balancing designing, providing art direction to junior designers, and helping to establish design training and education materials. 



  • Work with a team of creative leads to help improve awareness of design principles and interpret customer needs from design briefs
  • Provide art direction and guidance to junior designers in the creation of customer designs as part of the Vistaprint Design Service 
  • Review designers’ work for relevance, consistency and accuracy through proofing, editing and optimizing workflow 
  • Drive excellence in quality, design and typography 
  • Educate the team about customer goals and usage of corporate identity products 
  • Ensure quality of creative by proactively measuring aesthetics against effectiveness 
  • Working with the Creative Director and other Creative Leads, host team and peer creative critiques and/or workshops that inspire growth, teamwork and refine junior staff design and presentation skills 
  • Ability to understand product marketing research/test results and integrate key learning’s into the creative process  
  • Partner effectively with site leads, product owners, analytics, training team members, in-house experience team and within the design team to communicate business strategies and trends to ensure superior product 



BA/BS degree in Design or related field or relative experience in the field (in-house or agency) 



  • 6+ years of design, art direction, and/or formal design training with exceptional conceptual and design skills 
  • On-going experience as a creative “working” mentor 
  • Experience with creatively interpreting strategy, positioning and marketing research 
  • Strong typographical and technical design skills are required 
  • Expert use of design applications:  Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must 
  • Strong Illustration skills or the keen ability to direct Illustrators is required 
  • An in-depth portfolio focused on developing corporate identity and corporate collateral from the ground up is essential
