Your new role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Plant Director to become a part of the ANZ Vistaprint senior leadership team.

Reporting to the ANZ Vistaprint CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Australian operations for our Manufacturing Plant in Derrimut. This critical role is responsible for leading a cross functional team of 130+ people to customise and ship on time 4.5 million customer orders a year. With strong business growth ahead, this role will lead and oversee our capital investment and continuous improvement programs.

  • Business Acumen - Apply in-depth understanding of how own discipline integrates within the organisation

 

Your main responsibilities as a Plant Director will involve

  • People leadership: leading a team of 4 direct reports and 120+ team members on site. Hiring and developing top talent, playing a key role in leading site engagement and culture
  • Customer experience management: ensuring product quality, managing and resolving customer experience issues, liaising with global contact centre teams.
  • Owning operational execution: leading the Manufacturing team to produce customer orders against key SLAs – delivery timeliness, quality and cost to produce.
  • CAPEX program: Managing full lifecycle of a USD$4m/year CAPEX budget including strategic expansion investments and replacement/renewal projects. Includes ideating with product teams, investigating technical options, building businesses cases, gaining approvals, managing purchasing, installation and operationalisation.
  • Continuous improvement program: Identifying, implementing and ongoing management of a variety of continuous improvement projects across the operation with outcomes focused on efficiency/cost reductions, safety and customer experience.
  • Maintenance and Engineering: maintaining a range of plant equipment, improving up time performance, working with technical support and suppliers to ensure best practice, leading maintenance technicians and engineers to solve problems and maintain delivery performance.
  • Supply chain optimisation and management: managing local procurement function, optimising material sourcing and delivery timeliness.
  • Global stakeholder management: working with global stakeholders, particularly equivalent roles in other geographies. Sharing best practice, trouble shooting, looking for opportunities to learn and co-create value.

 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 10+ years managing a similar manufacturing facility
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing
  • Experience in scaling an operation – supporting growth, implementing new technology and driving efficiency
  • Commercial acumen and financial literacy
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer Orientation with strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
