Operations Manager Large Format (1 FTE)
You are responsible for managing one of our four production departments, namely the VSO (Value Stream Organization) Large Format.

You will manage 3 Supervisors, and indirectly you are responsible for 50-100 operators, depending on seasonality. You
will lead production and ensure all KPI’s are met in our complex, mass customization manufacturing facility. the Operations manager Large Format will report to the Sr. Director Operations

You are directly responsible and accountable for meeting KPI’s on: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Motivation of our employees. We have a strong focus on continuous improvement and the main challenge for the Operation        s manager is to lead and inspire the teams to consistently and continuously perform at peak level.


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Creating an atmosphere in which people work together enthusiastically and co-operatively to produce outstanding results.
  • Coaches the Supervisors and in doing so, focuses a lot of time on supporting, improving, training and sparring. The agreed KPI’s are the guiding principle in this respect.
  • Responsible for a skilled operations team by enabling proper training and development. 
  • Analyze and evaluate production reports. Discuss the results and the actions to be undertaken with the Supervisors.
  • Based on guidelines, set up by Director and Finance, responsible for drawing up and realizing of the annual VSO budget. Reviewing the budget on monthly bases with the necessary actions.
  • Takes decisions on planning, machine and personnel deployment.
  • Creating collaboration across other functions to meet business goals: Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance etc. To achieve business objectives, intensive and strong collaboration is required with other functional departments such as quality, maintenance, supply chain, engineering, HR, etc.
  • Holds performance appraisal and evaluation interviews with Supervisors.
  • Monitors and makes proposals for mutations in the production capacity on VSO and workflow level. Works closely with other Operations Managers. Is business owner of different projects, like implementation of new processes or new product or improvement of processes and related changes in VSO layout.
  • Constantly focusing and adapting his area of responsibility on changing business needs for the short and long term. Making change proposals towards the Director.
  • Translates management plans and strategies into concrete actions. Proactively conducts analyses, makes proposals and decides together with the Director on all VSO related areas and specifically on organizational changes.

  • Bachelor or Master degree, technical or business focussed.
  • Extensive experience in Operations Management in a complex Manufacturing fast-paced environment.

  • Highly results oriented and delivery focused, with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Strong collaborator who is able to create alignment across teams and functions.
  • Initiative to grow and develop the teams and the production facility.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills..
  • Living near (or willing to relocate to) Venlo, Netherlands.
