Vistaprint is looking for a technology leader within Care Technology tribe.

 

We are building the future of Vistaprint’s customer service platform to create a more intuitive experience for our customers and specialists. The right candidate will help move our platform to the next level. You’ll be working as part of a skilled, collaborative team to continue to drive our existing platform as well as jointly design and implement high visibility applications.

As a Software Engineering Manager within CARE Technology Tribe, you will lead and be a part of a team of energetic software engineers building features and tools in cutting edge technologies that will be seen by millions of customers.

 

Your role will involve

  • Hiring, mentoring, leading, and managing a team of software engineers
  • Leading team(s) building applications using React.JS, Node.JS, JavaScript, Typescript, AWS cloud, and best-in-class e-commerce and customer service SaaS capabilities, such as Salesforce Service Cloud. We believe great Engineering managers need to be hands-on whenever needed, at the architecture, design or even code level.
  • Learning about and evaluating new technologies. Constantly evaluating new technology and customer service platform trends, and opportunistically match them with business opportunities.
  • Influencing and driving software design discussions.
  • Mentoring and training team members to enforce best practices for architecture and code style though code reviews and pairing. You will work closely with your team members to motivate and inspire them to deliver with quality in alignment with business goals
  • Reinforcing team(s) alignment with the Tribe, Vistaprint Technology, and industry best practices.
  • Working closely with product management team to ensure we're building the best products
  • Assisting with project estimation and work break-down
  • Taking operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team
  • Contributing to and promoting a fun and results-driven team culture

  

In return you will bring 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field with at least 7 years of experience working in software engineering
  • Experience, preferably in a fast paced, agile technical environment
  • Experience with software development lifecycles and architectural design
  • Experience with large enterprise systems and structured engineering
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and strong analytic ability
  • Experience assuming responsibility for team's outcomes, taking an active role in finding solution(s) and creating the right environment for a team’s success
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills including fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with others from a variety of departments at all levels of the organization
  • Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to provide direction to cross-functional teams responsible for resolution of complex technical challenges
  • Demonstrated skills with object-oriented and/or functional programming
  • Experience with JavaScript applications on both the client and server sides 
  • Design and implementation experience with SQL and No-SQL databases

Would be great if you have

  • Experience designing and building cloud native applications and services in AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience with customer service and contact centers technology platforms, Salesforce, particularly Salesforce Service Cloud.
