The position
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Manager – Indirects, with strong experience in Indirect category management in highly decentralized business environments.

The Category Manager will join the Cimpress Procurement Services team to work with the different Cimpress businesses. The mission is to deliver high value (financial, service, innovation, competitive advantages) to the Cimpress brands through powerful procurement projects in the Indirect area of spend. Typical Indirect subcategories include: Marketing, Digital services, IT & Telecom, Contract manufacturing, Facilities Management, Professional Services, Resourcing, Travel, Utilities, Workplace, etc…

The Category Manager role includes from strategy definition to project implementation:
 

Create and implement the Category Strategy

Design, develop and implement the Category Procurement Strategy (for his/her scope of responsibility):

  • Mapping and understanding the business needs
  • Following and understanding the category market trends
  • Managing & exploiting changing business conditions
  • Identifying new suppliers to increase competition
  • Consolidating existing suppliers if more value can be obtained
  • Tendering Cimpress’ spend on a regular basis using the adequate methodology – as deemed strategically wise – to guarantee optimal terms and conditions
  • Leveraging internal resources (people, knowledge and infrastructure)
  • Promoting innovation and/or new supplier services
  • Sharing, adjusting and executing the category strategy across businesses


Deliver the expected financial performance of the category
Contribute to the annual budget, interact with the businesses to include their needs and expectations while encouraging maximum business engagement

  • Identify the key procurement opportunities throughout the different businesses
  1. Deliver the committed targets and KPI’s through activities such as:
  2. Share plans and actions with business partners encouraging participation
  3. Prepare and execute negotiations & tenders in a structured way, for new and existing suppliers
  4. Identify new opportunities to improve and create more competition
  5. Implement the terms & conditions negotiated after they are concluded
  • Encourage full utilization of all spend management System processes (Spend, Contracts, Projects) by all parties to ensure visibility and transparency of the category


Lead Supplier Management
Contribute to develop and maintain a smooth relation with the category suppliers:

  • Developing relations at all levels of their organizations
  • Challenging supplier organizations to deliver improvements in cost, service levels, quality, availability and value for money
  • Reviewing Supplier performance periodically, sharing findings
  • Leading conflict resolution for issues escalated to Cimpress Procurement
  • Ensuring legal documents (NDAs, Contracts, T&C’s) are signed and up to date

 

Contribute to Cimpress’ Businesses Management

Point of Contact: Be the trusted “go to person” for all businesses’ commercial procurement needs of the category:

  • Manage the internal teams and partners
  • Commercial / Contractual needs
  • Conflict resolution, if they require escalation
  • Continuous improvement initiatives

 

Studies & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, financial or technical study
  • Minimum of 5 years regional procurement experience in the Indirect category
  • Experience in a large international corporate environment with multiple BU’s, operating in multiple currencies and a decentralized management structure
  • High level user of Microsoft applications, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical skills, good knowledge of business analysis and costing – TCO models
  • Fully fluent in English (spoken and written). An additional language will be a plus (in particular: German, French, Spanish, Italian)
  • Basic knowledge of legal documents, able to read and interpret contracts, and involve the legal support only when necessary

  • People Management skills required to interact with a broad spectrum of experience levels, skill sets, business levels and communication methods
  • Confidence to interact with upper management
  • Effective communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing.
  • Culturally savvy: understanding the cultural differences of a global company
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders to effectively influence to provide ideas and support initiatives
  • Ability to focus on critical priorities
  • Experience working under tight deadlines, with financial targets
  • Comfortable working in a constant changing environment
  • Ready to be creative and resolve problems on his/her own
  • Be a strong team player, able to build trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders
     

Travel Requirements:

  • Available to travel up-to 20% of his/her time globally, with peaks of 30%
