Software Engineer - Spain (Remote)

Our Team: 

DIY Design Relevance is responsible for helping Vista’s customers find relevant and useful designs that match their business needs and that can be used to complete their objectives in marketing their business. As part of this, we maintain the primary design search service in Vista, maintain and extend backend processes to help map designs to products, work with content strategists to help add data to make designs discoverable, and coordinate design search services across the Vista, including paid search and site-wide search. We have team members based in the US and Spain and strive to promote a collaborative and participatory team culture.

What You Will Do: 

• Work in a team to maintain and extend our search APIs, including collaborating with our dedicated search domain experts;

• Work in a team to maintain and extend our product to a content mapping engine;

• Help triage issues and debug production code;

• Review and provide feedback on code written by other developers;

• Help to monitor and improve the reliability and performance of our core services;

• Work with our team to help translate front-end and API user requirements into new features;

• Build out automation to deploy and test our code;

• Collaborate with external teams and with other developers, including pair programming, design sessions, and documentation.

Your Qualifications:

• Experience with the basics of Web development;

• Experience with database querying and optimization;

• Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language (C#, Java, or other similar languages) or a functional language;

• Computer Science, related Engineering degree, or relevant work experience.

Nice to Have: 

• Experience with C#;

• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL;

• Experience with Web platforms such as AWS or Azure;

• Experience with API design and implementation;

• Experience with common messaging frameworks such as NServiceBus.
